LA GRANDE, Ore.\u00a0April 14, 2017<\/em>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/strong>À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ\u2019s Board of Trustees has a full agenda for its next regular public meeting from 8 a.m. to 4:20 p.m. Thursday, April 20 in Inlow Hall, Room 201.<\/p>\n

The board is voting on EOU\u2019s proposed tuition rate and mandatory fees for 2017-18, as well as the university\u2019s room and board rates for next year. Trustees are also considering a proposed statement of the university\u2019s values and principles, a proposed increase to the university president\u2019s compensation, proposed changes to various board policy statements, and the reappointment of the board\u2019s chair and vice chair.<\/p>\n

Several other conversations are on the docket that should influence future university direction and policy. At the invitation of the board, Ben Cannon, executive director of the Higher Education Coordinating Commission, will engage with trustees in a discussion of statewide higher education policy and strategy. They will also discuss development of the relationship between the board and the commission.<\/p>\n

Jessi Gordon, a representative from Gallup Education, is joining the group to discuss research identifying institutional factors that lead to student success, and the board will talk about efforts to integrate these elements into university planning.<\/p>\n

MJ Heather, University Council chair, and Holly Chason, director of Institutional Research, are also providing an update on EOU\u2019s strategic planning efforts.<\/p>\n

At the end of the day, Tim Seydel, vice president for University Advancement, will engage the board in planning for the current legislative session.<\/p>\n
