A Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Elementary Teacher Education<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An education degree from À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ prepares you for a fulfilling career teaching in elementary education. Advance your degree further with a master\u2019s degree in teaching, too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EOU\u2019s bachelor degree program<\/a><\/strong> combines content area coursework, core studies and structured student teaching experiences. This combination provides an ideal path to a preliminary teaching license in the state of Oregon.<\/strong>  Students will also complete an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) course of study to prepare for culturally responsive teaching practices in a diverse population of learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Graduate Programs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Master of Arts in Teaching Program<\/a> is a 10-month program that prepares students to obtain a preliminary Oregon license with an endorsement in either Elementary-Multiple Subjects or a Secondary-Single Subject.  The program is a hybrid of online and on-campus coursework, allowing students to live and student-teach throughout Oregon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Master of Science degree (MS) <\/a>provides the student with a strong graduate level focus area relating to education.  This program is ideal for students enhancing their teaching career with additional theoretical and practical knowledge, usually with an endorsement such as Reading<\/a>, Special Education<\/a> and\/or English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attend on campus in La Grande, Oregon.\u00a0 Small classes with one-on-one support from both faculty, advisors and student services like TRiO create\u00a0a student centered atmosphere. Our small cohort sizes are designed to foster a strong sense of community between students, faculty, and staff. \u00a0Exceptional\u00a0residential halls<\/a>,\u00a0student clubs<\/a> and activities and events such as the Outdoor Adventure Program<\/a> complete the Mountaineer experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interested in transferring to EOU?<\/strong> Our goal is to make the process seamless. If you have an Associate of Arts (AAOT) or Associate of Science (ASOT) Oregon Transfer Degree, you\u2019ve already met our general education requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Utilizing our transfer pathways, students can begin their studies at one of our community college partners and transfer seamlessly into our Undergraduate Elementary Education program<\/a> to stay on track with degree completion goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EOU Onsite<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our satellite education programs in Gresham<\/a>, Hermiston\/Pendleton<\/a> and Ontario<\/a>, Oregon, offer a face-to-face classroom setting for students residing throughout the state at EOU\u2019s great tuition price!  Learning onsite is designed to meet the needs of the adult-learner and transfer students residing in the associated areas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Early Childhood Education<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This track is designed for educators and early childhood caregivers looking to enhance their professional development. À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ and the College of Education offer a non-licensure major in Early Childhood Education. The Early Childhood Education major<\/a> is offered completely online and can be completed in as little as two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
