He is an ardent supporter of undergraduate research experiences. Dr. Andrew\u2019s bioinorganic research group studies the structure and reactivity of iron-containing heme proteins from the biological nitrogen cycle. His research, supported by the National Science Foundation, involves undergraduate students at EOU, as well as a team of scientists from the US and abroad. Dr. Heideman&#8217;s research interest include understanding the influence of synthesis conditions on structural and physical properties of solids, particularly on thermoelectric materials.&nbsp; His research utilizes several techniques including sol-gel synthesis, spin coating, x-ray diffraction, and measurements of electrical resistivity and Seebeck coefficients.&nbsp; Biochemistry at À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, and teaches courses in GIS &amp; Remote Sensing, Environmental Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Instrumental Analysis. The chemistry program at EOU is equipped with a range of state of the art instrumentation and trains our students in analytical techniques including Gas and Liquid Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, and UV\/VIS, IR, FTIR and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Walsh received a bachelor\u2019s degree in Chemistry from the College of William &amp; Mary, a Masters of Science in Oceanography &amp; Atmospheric Science from Oregon State University and a doctorate in Analytical Chemistry from Oregon State University.
