Dr. Andrew teaches courses in biochemistry, inorganic chemistry, and general chemistry. He is an ardent supporter of undergraduate research experiences. Dr. Andrew\u2019s bioinorganic research group studies the structure and reactivity of iron-containing heme proteins from the biological nitrogen cycle. His research, supported by the National Science Foundation, involves undergraduate students at EOU, as well as a team of scientists from the US and abroad. The earlier a student gets involved, the better!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Colby Heideman is a physical chemist with an emphasis on solid state and materials chemistry.  Dr. Heideman’s research interest include understanding the influence of synthesis conditions on structural and physical properties of solids, particularly on thermoelectric materials.  His research utilizes several techniques including sol-gel synthesis, spin coating, x-ray diffraction, and measurements of electrical resistivity and Seebeck coefficients.  Undergraduates with any level of experience are welcome to join his research group.  He teaches classes in introductory science, general chemistry, and physical chemistry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Christopher Walsh, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ, and teaches courses in GIS & Remote Sensing, Environmental Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Instrumental Analysis. The chemistry program at EOU is equipped with a range of state of the art instrumentation and trains our students in analytical techniques including Gas and Liquid Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, and UV\/VIS, IR, FTIR and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Walsh received a bachelor\u2019s degree in Chemistry from the College of William & Mary, a Masters of Science in Oceanography & Atmospheric Science from Oregon State University and a doctorate in Analytical Chemistry from Oregon State University. Dr. Walsh\u2019s research group studies the transport and fate of environmental pollutants, using a combination of transport modeling, field sampling, and laboratory analysis, with a focus on atmospheric transport and deposition processes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
