Student Assistant – College of Education

As the Student Assistant, you’ll help create professional hallway photo displays, maintain organized office systems, and support day-to-day administrative functions. Experiential Learning:	The student will gain experience in office administration, visual design, and organizational systems within a professional academic setting. They’ll develop attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills while learning how administrative functions support college operations. This position provides valuable preparation for future roles in business, education, or administrative support.
Professional Development:	The student will receive on-the-job training for all assigned tasks, including how to use office equipment, software, and filing systems. Regular feedback and mentorship will help the student strengthen professional behaviors such as reliability, initiative, and organization. As they gain confidence, they’ll be encouraged to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects.
Summary of Job Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:	– Create hallway photo displays for faculty and staff using provided templates and design guidelines. – Organize and maintain the College of Education’s file room and conference room spaces. – Assist with filing, labeling, and maintaining both digital and physical records. – Monitor and restock office supplies as needed. – Support general office organization and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:	– Must be enrolled at EOU with Federal Work Study eligibility. – Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented. – Comfortable learning new tasks and working in a professional office setting.
Preferred Qualifications:	– Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, email, and file management). – Interest in education, office administration, or visual organization.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:	– Strong time management and communication skills. – Attention to detail and willingness to take initiative. – Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace.
